Dr. Adnan Said is Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the William S MIddleton VAMC in Madison, WI. Dr Said works a transplant hepatologist at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and the William S. Middleton Veterans Affairs hospital. He serves as Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Director of Liver Transplant at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Affairs Hospital. In addition, Dr Said also serves as the program director for the UW Transplant Hepatology fellowship
Dr. Said is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Transplant Hepatology and holds a Masters Degree in Population Health Sciences. . He has served on the practice guidelines committee of the American Association for the study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the finance committee of the AASLD, the public policy committee and the clinical research committee of AASLD. He has served on the executive committees of the National Medical Advisory committee of the American Liver foundation and is chair of the medical advisory committee of the Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa Chapter of the American Liver foundation. His research interests include Population Health particularly Non alcoholic fatty liver disease as well as portal hypertension , hepatorenal syndrome and imaging related to advanced liver disease. He has received funding from the American Gastroenterological Association as well as the VA and the national institutes of health (NIH) . He has received the Teaching Award for Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health as well as research awards from national medical societies (INFORMS). He has been nominated to the Best Doctors in America List multiple times.
