Ambreen Azhar MD,MS

Dr. Ambreen Azhar, MD, MS is a Transplant Nephrologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. She has completed her Nephrology training from Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai, New York, and her Transplant Nephrology fellowship from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis Tennessee. Dr. Azhar has completed her Master's degree in clinical research and epidemiology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis Tennessee. Dr. Azhar is involved in several ongoing clinical research projects primarily with an interest in metabolic health in patients with ESRD and kidney transplant recipients and projects involving the utilization of solid organs from COVID-positive donors.
