Dr D Jan is Graduated from Pitie Salpetriere Medical School at Pierre et Marie Curie University. Dr D Jan got his MD degree in 1984 and his PhD in 1996 at Pierre and Marie Curie University. He did his residentship at Assistance Publique Hopitaux de Paris and his Fellowship at Necker Enfants Malades Hospital- Rene Descartes University. In 1996 he joined the Faculty as Professor of Pediatric Surgery at Rene Descartes University. With Olivier Goulet and Yann Revillon they established the first pediatric abdominal organ transplant program in Europe and achieved the first ( and still the longest Patient and graft survival) successful intestinal transplantation in children. In 2003 Dr D Jan joined Columbia University as Professor of Clinical Surgery to direct the pediatric abdominal transplant program. Then in 2009 he joined Albert Einstein College of Medicine as full Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Pediatric surgery and director of the Pediatric Transplant program (current postion)
