Erin Clifton PhD

Dr. Erin G. Clifton is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and provides mental health care to patients in the Transplant Center at the University of Michigan. Dr. Clifton received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. She completed her clinical internship at the Durham VA Medical Center and post-doctoral health psychology fellowship at Henry Ford Health System where she received specialized training in transplant and clinical health psychology. Currently, she serves as a member of the kidney, liver, lung, and heart transplant teams and living kidney and liver donor teams. She works collaboratively with team members to promote healthy coping with medical stressors, improve mental health symptoms, and address transplant-related concerns, such as adherence to medical regimens. She is experienced in a wide range of cognitive behavioral therapies and emphasizes evidence-based treatment and collaborative treatment planning.
