Geoffrey Funk, MD, FACS completed his undergraduate and medical school education at Texas A&M University. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in 2009 and a fellowship in Trauma & Surgical Critical Care at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2010. He is board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care through the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Funk is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, holds memberships in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Texas Surgical Society, and numerous national medical societies. He serves as Executive Clerkship Director for Surgery at Texas A&M School of Medicine and holds the rank of Clinical Associate Professor at both Texas A&M and TCU. In 2022, Dr. Funk joined Southwest Transplant Alliance as Chief Medical Officer. In this capacity, he provides critical care management of potential organ donors and organ recovery for transplant and research.
