Dr Kohei Kinoshita received his medical degree at Miyazaki University and completed his surgical residency at Kumamoto Red Cross Hospital in Japan. He worked at Aichi Medical University as a post-graduate research fellow with his research focusing on establishing a quantitative system for cellular immunity to VZV, including identifying IFNγ-producing cells by flow cytometry and ELISPOT. He also worked at Nagoya Red Cross Hospital, one of the highest-volume renal transplant centers in Japan, prior to moving to Boston. Recently, he is a research fellow in Dr Pierson and Dr Cooper in the center for transplantation science at MGH. He leads the research projects of anti-CD154 mAb in allo heterotopic heart transplant model in NHPs and xeno kidney transplantation of NHPs from pigs under his PIs.
