Leonardo Pozo Garcia MD

Dr. Pozo was raised in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico for most of his life where he grew up in a loving environment.His interest in medicine began in high school after his father was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. He applied to the local school of Medicine, Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas where he was given the initial tools to embark in a journey to become a better physician.After graduating, he matched at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley-DHR Internal Medicine program in Edinburg, Texas.Excited to continue his journey and after working with an underserved population, he decided to take his training to the next level and joined Baylor College of Medicine for his general Nephrology fellowship. Following his dreams and passion for medicine, he has committed into the transplant world and will be joining the University of California at San Francisco for his Transplant Nephrology fellowship.Dr. Pozo is passionate about providing healthcare to underserved communities. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, playing soccer, exercising, and traveling.
