Maya Campara received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 2006. Subsequently, she completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2007 and a Solid Organ Transplant Residency in 2008 at the University of Illinois Chicago. Dr. Campara practices as a Solid Organ Transplant Clinical Pharmacists for the abdominal transplant program at UIHealth. She also serves as the Coordinator of Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Services. Dr. Campara is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She is as a clinical associate professor at the University of Illinois Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine. For her professional service, in 2018, Dr. Campara was recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. In 2019, this honor was also bestowed upon her by the American Society of Transplantation.Dr. Campara's research focuses on immunosuppression, as well as post-transplant complications and their management. Her teaching interests also include immunology, clinical education, clinical pharmacy practice, and transition of care. She has lectured at local, national, and international meetings and has published papers in peer-reviewed journals related to these topics.
