Mena Botros completed his M.D. at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and moved toColumbus in 2015 to complete his Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at The Ohio StateUniversity. He served as MedPeds Chief Resident during his final year of residency, where hefocused on resident education and curriculum development, before starting Pulmonary andCritical Care fellowship in 2019. During his fellowship, Dr. Botros completed a sub-fellowshipin pulmonary transplant medicine. His clinical and research interests include adult congenitallung diseases, lung transplantation, graduate medical education, and health equity. His researchincludes work on the use of donor-derived cell free DNA in lung transplant, gene expressionprofiling of acute allograft dysfunction, COVID-19 vaccine efficacy in immunosuppressedpatients, and clinical outcomes in adult bronchopulmonary dysplasia. He remains passionateabout graduate medical education, volunteering in the community, and global health outreach. He currently practices at Houston Methodist Hospital, where he continues to focus his efforts on graduate medical education, DEI, and early postoperative outcomes.
