Dr. Michelle T. Jesse is a clinical health psychologist and clinical investigator integrated into the Henry Ford Transplant Institute in Detroit, MI. Her research focuses on the psychological processes and complex interpersonal dynamics across patients, care partners, and healthcare personnel that affect access to care in abdominal organ transplant populations. This includes research aimed at identifying factors associated with reduced or disparate access, interventions designed to optimize patient and care partners for transplant related outcomes including listing for transplant, and associated impacts on clinical providers. In recognition for her efforts, she was awarded the Distinguished Mid-Career Award by the American Society of Transplantation (AST) in 2022. She is an associate editor for Progress in Transplantation and currently serves as Past-Chair for the Psychosocial and Ethics Community of Practice for AST.
