Peter Birks MD, FRCPC, MHA

Dr. Peter Birks completed residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2018. He then completed a 2-year Masters in Health Administration at UBC (2018-2020). While completing his Masters, he also did an Administrative Fellowship with BC Renal, where his work was focussed on optimizing care for patients following acute kidney injury. He is also involved in research in the areas of anemia management and atrial fibrillation management in CKD. He is currently a clinical Nephrologist and Internist at Royal Columbian Hospital in Fraser Health. His Nephrology practice includes inpatient and outpatient nephrology, post transplant care, and PD catheter insertions. He is also the Vascular Access lead for the Fraser Health nephrology group. He is also the Fraser Health Lead for the BC Interdisciplinary COVID Care Network, and set up 2 interdisciplinary post COVID Recovery Clinics in Fraser Health.
