Robert Liwski MD, PhD

Dr. Robert Liwski is a Hematological Pathologist, a Transplantation Immunologist and Associate Professor in Departments of Pathology and Microbiology and Immunology at Dalhousie University in Halifax. He is also the Medical Director of the HLA Typing Laboratory at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. Dr. Liwski obtained his MD degree, PhD in Transplantation Immunology and Fellowship training in Hematological Pathology at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Dr. Liwski is a clinician scientist with research interests in transplantation immunology, ischemia reperfusion injury and dendritic cell biology. He has recently received the 2009 Canadian Association of Pathologists Junior Scientist Award for his research investigating the role of activated protein C in prevention of ischemia reperfusion injury and cancer metastasis.
