Dr. Thomas G. Peters is the Methodist Medical Center Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida, where he currently leads its Gainesville abdominal transplant and fellowship programs. Dr. Peters earned his MD from the University of Cincinnati, completed general surgical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and did his fellowship in multiorgan transplantation at the University of Colorado under the tutelage of Dr. Thomas Starzl. He has further served at the rank of professor at the University of Tennessee, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences/Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and Jacksonville University. Dr. Peters has numerous scientific and educational presentations-publications reflecting more than three decades of academic endeavors, and he has served many professional and patient-community organizations as a board member, officer, and committee chair.
