Wairimu Magua, Ph.D., M.S., is an academic research scientist in the Department of Surgery at Emory University. Dr. Magua’s overarching research goal is to advance clinical monitoring and treatment protocols for transplant recipients. Her primary research interest entails adopting statistical, mathematical, and machine learning models that convey patient-specific trajectories and that identify drivers of post-transplant outcome disparities. Dr. Magua was awarded her Ph.D. in Health Systems Engineering in 2014 and M.S. in Statistics in 2013 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Magua is a member of the American Society of Transplantation (AST) and the Network of Minority Health Research Investigators (NMRI) at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
