Yael R. Nobel, MD, MS is an Instructor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she will be a Transplant Hepatology Fellow in 2023-2024. Previously,he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Chemistry from Princeton University and attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania before completing Internal Medicine residency and chief residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Columbia University. During her fellowship, she earned a Masters in Science in Patient-Oriented Research from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Nobel is a translational researcher studying the role of the gut microbiome in clinical outcomes of patients with liver disease and liver transplant. She is particularly interested in a potential role of the gut microbiome in the development of acute cellular rejection after liver transplant.
